Enthusiamos is the Greek word what those stranded in English call enthusiasm. Also translated as gumption. Also translated as passion. Also translated as quality. Also translated as (God in you).
Enthusiamos. Gumption. Passion. Quality. God in you. We all have it. Every single one of us. In fact this extends beyond the species barriers. Jumps across the animate-inanimate border. Pervades the whole universe. If you meet an alien. He will have enthusiamos. You look at the starry night. You can see enthusiamos there. Peer through a meson microscope[*] you will see it there. This is the stuff that the 19th century scientists called ether in their bid to unite the physical sciences.
On end of the reaction scale you have the ‘Glory of God’. On the other end you simply go….wow!
The easiest people to spot enthusiamos in are children. I guess the place where you see its absence most is in war and destruction.
Wars have been fought over this and are still being fought over it. Funnily enough
Art. Science. Literature. Good food. Wine. Sex. Drugs. Rock n roll. Parties. Carnivals. Festivals. Picnics. Retreats. Holidays. Pilgrimages. Holy Places. Are all tools to try and capture it back.
I guess more than anything else Jesus did a grandstand on the cross to just hammer the lesson home: Enthusiamos[†] is in you, now will you please remember?
And of course Blogit is one helluva enthusiamostic place.
